Keep up to date with everything Animal Crossing by watching below!
Is Time Travel Allowed?
Simply put, no. It's an exploit that is frowned upon, not only by Nintendo but the AC community as well.
There are a mix of positives and negatives with time travelling, you can check them out here.
Can You Time Travel In Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Nintendo has stated that you cant time travel in Animal Crossing: New Horizons due to the fact the game autosaves.
However, plenty of players have pointed out that the Nintendo Switch has an internal clock, which can be changed.
Unless Nintendo has found a way to stop the console clock interfering with the date and time in-game, it can completely be tampered with.
As well as this, depending on how regularly the game autosaves, it may be that players can change the date and time of the game without having to worry about it autosaving over their progress.
It is possible in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
At least we won't have to worry about Resetti appearing this time around!
What Is Time Travel?
Time travel, often shortened to "TT", is when the player manually changes the time of their game or console in order to benefit from seasonal events, bugs, fish, moving villagers out, moving villagers in, upgrading shops, etc.
It is also used to manipulate the ABD interest where, by the end of each month, a certain percentage is added to the player's Bell amount in their bank accounts.
It is considered a form of cheating to many and a controversial topic that brings many benefits and plenty of downsides.
