Apex Legends Season 6: New Legend Rampart Guide, All Abilities, New Skins, Best Partners, How To Unlock, And More

Apex Legends Season 6 has brought a whole host of changes to the battle royale game we know and love, but the most exciting one is the addition of a brand new Legend.

Rampart is the latest addition to the Apex Games, and players will be able to unlock her - and her trusty minigun, Sheila - with the new update.

Unsure on whether she's worth your hard-earned cash? Here's everything we know about her so far:

Who Is Rampart?

Rampart is a weapon modder who knows a few of our current Legends already through her work.

She was specifically recruited by Kuben Blisk - the antagonist of Titanfall 2 and commissioner of the Apex Games.

We don't know if he's got some kind of ulterior motive for bringing someone loyal to him into the games, but I', sure we'll find out.

For now, we'll see how Rampart gets along with the other Legends. Something tells me that she and Lifeline won't get along too well...

Rampart's Abilities

Rampart's abilities lean into her expert modding and weapon-building skills. However, they'll definitely come in handy on the battlefield, too.

  • Passive: Modded Loader
    • Increased magazine/heat capacity and faster reloads/recharge when using LMGs and the minigun.
    • This makes her one of the best Legends to use heavy weapons. The extended magazines will be brutal in 1v1s against Legends using the same weapon as you.
    • The reload times are also really handy, and it is confirmed that Rampart's L-Stars will take longer to overheat and cool down quicker when they do.
  • Tactical: Amped Cover
    • Rampart builds a crouch-cover wall, which deploys a full-cover amped wall that blocks incoming shots and amps outgoing shots.
    • As she can deploy five of these walls at a time, Rampart seems the next best defensive character after Wattson.
  • Ultimate: Emplaced Minigun "Sheila"
    • Rampart places a mounted machine gun that anyone can use, with high ammo capacity and a long reload time. A max of 3 miniguns can be deployed at a time.
    • Rampart's passive means she is the best Legend to use this, but anyone on the team - or opposition - can help out if needs be.
    • We'll see if Sheila can be destroyed - we assume so - but this is another great defensive boon.

Rampart's abilities live up to her name, she can fortify defences and emplace devastating weapons to fend off attackers. Just watch out for those grenades.

Best Weapons

We currently think that Rampart will want to be kitted out with long-ranged weapons, especially LMGs.

The Devotion has been taken out of care packages and placed in regular loot spawns, making it the perfect contender to make use of Rampart's abilities.

However, you might also want to carry something that's better up close, in case enemy Octane's try to jump into your position or something.

For this, we'd recommend the Peacekeeper. Now it has a Precision Choke built in, you can cause massive damage with a couple of well-placed headshots.

However, we're almost definitely going to be trying our luck with the new weapon, the Volt. Pick up one of the brand new Extended Energy Mags and go to town with the Energy SMG.

Best Legends To Pair With Rampart

The obvious choice is Wattson, isn't it?

Rampart's Amped Cover seems really weak to incoming grenades, so using Wattson's Ultimate to negate those - and recharge your shields - makes perfect sense.

What's more, Wattson's fences can plug the gaps in your deployable cover to make a fearsome defensive position. Just watch out for the circle.

However, if you need to make a quick getaway, we recommend Wraith as a third. Her Ultimate is so useful in a wide range of situations, not least for making a quick escape when you're under siege.
