Lego Delays Overwatch 2 Sets Indefinitely as Activision Blizzard’s Legal Troubles Continue

Activision Blizzard remains in hot water after recent sexual harassment accusations were made by current and former employees. Evidently, their business partners understand how grave the situation is, as Lego's announced they're delaying planned Overwatch 2 sets indefinitely.

Releasing a statement through The Brick Fan (via Polygon), that confirmed Lego's reviewing their current partnership with Activision Blizzard, citing concerns surrounding how the company has treated female employees. Previously, these Overwatch 2 sets were supposed to launch early next month on February 1.

Here's the full statement:

“We are currently reviewing our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address continuing allegations regarding workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. While we complete the review, we will pause the release of a LEGO Overwatch 2 product which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022.”

This isn’t the first time a company's stated they'll review its relationship with Activision Blizzard following the lawsuit. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have all previously expressed concern, though right now, they've continued selling their games.

Prior to this, Lego had previously released numerous Overwatch sets, based on the first game and its various areas. This Overwatch 2 Lego set would have centred around the cinematic announcing the sequel, featuring Tracer and Mei taking on the Omnic Titan.
