Sea of Thieves has sailed steady since launching back in 2018. Now onto Season 5, Rare's preparing significant new updates for 2022 and with Season 6 dropping soon, they've outlined what to expect.
We've seen news about plans to shutdown Arena mode, but that's not all. Rare has already outlined plans for Season 6, Season 7, Season 8, and Season 9, running until the end of this year. So, if you're looking to find out what's next, here's what we've heard.

Sea of Thieves - 2022 Roadmap
Season 6 launches in March, kicking off a new storyline and adding Sea Forts and Pirate Legend content. Season 7 starts in June, but all we've heard is that it'll offer "new ways to play and progress." Season 8 begins in September, promising "expanded role play and quest types," while December's Season 9 implements "new social options for crews."
Each season also offers three new adventures, more developments about this ongoing mystery, monthly emporium content, a new plunder pass, and a community day.
