Stellar Blade collaborating with Nier Automata was a dream for fans and a highly likely crossover, confirmed during the September 24 Sony State of Play as 2B will join the game later this year.

Shift Up is the developer behind Stellar Blade and the popular gacha mobile title Nikke; in 2023, it had Nier Automata characters 2B, A2, and Pascal.

While not much is known about the collaboration, it's safe to assume that, at the very least, players will get to don a full 2B outfit. However, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Stellar Blade x Nier Automata crossover will have much more in store.

Nier creator Yoko Taro was quoted saying back in April how much better he thinks Stellar Blade is than Nier Automata, and that the quality of the gameplay and visuals made him "jealous." Perhaps via this collaboration, the game developer could seize the opportunity to work with Shift Up while implementing new mechanics with the introduction of 2B.

Of course, this is all wishful thinking and speculation. What we know for sure is that the collaboration will happen at some point during the remainder of the year, with a few other features shipping with it, such as a very in-depth photo mode.

Stellar Blade was reviewed positively by both critics and fans. The game currently sits at an 81 rating in Metacritic with the former and 92 with the latter, making it one of the best-reviewed PlayStation 5 games of the year.
