Alan Wake 2’s latest and final story expansion takes us to one of the game’s most secretive areas, the Lake House. This was once the central hub for all things FBC-related. In this expansion, we get to the answer to the question that has bugged us since the game’s release a year ago:
What happened in the Lake House?
In this guide, you will find all the locations and codes for each FBC computer.
Location 1
The first computer to unlock is the trickiest since it’s the game's first puzzle. It’s accessible during the main story path, found inside Jules Marmont’s office. You must explore the area to find the six-digit code to unlock the computer and its secrets.
Finding the codes isn’t much of a problem for keen-eyed players. Simply read every note until you find a Memorandum about FBC’s security and privacy.
Eventually, you can piece together the numbers 071838/180738. July 18 was the date the Lake House first opened its doors, and 38 was the number highlighted on Jules’ Quote of the Day note.
Location 2
The second computer can be found in Sublevel 2 after your first Shadow encounter.
You know you’re heading the right way after you dealt with the Shaded in a room surrounded by multiple typewriters. Simply eliminate all of the enemies and get inside the elevator.
This is the room where you can find Ed Booker inside a cell writing a version of Alan Wake’s stories. You can talk to him, but unlock the computer first. Code 123456 is written on a note next to the PC.
Location 3
The third computer location is in the Control Center, further past the second computer. It’s at the end of the floor, requiring you to solve a puzzle. You might notice a few Shaded enemies on the way, but pay them no mind. You’ll deal with them later.
The solution to the Control Center Computer is easy. After getting the Level 2 Security Keycard from the dead body, head into the next room to find another computer and a note.
The emails you can read are from a couple talking about their anniversary. They also added a footnote about a certain painting ID.
Check the calendar on the wall to identify their anniversary. Choose September 23 as your date.
The last two digits can be found when examining the note near the first dead body you find. It’s Rudolph Lane’s Painting #25. The final code should be 092325/230925.
Location 4
The fourth computer location is found in the Inventory Management room. This can be accessed in the room where you first encountered the Painted enemy. You need to have the Level 2 Security Keycard to access this room.
Be careful; Painted enemies are everywhere, so don’t stick too close to the walls. Once you’ve reached the room, unlock it and check the computer inside. The code is on a sticky note next to the screen. It’s 021219. Don’t forget to get the Black Rock Launcher before you head out. This is essential for dealing damage to the Painted enemies.
Location 5
The fifth and final computer is in Diana Marmont’s Office in Sublevel 4. This is after making it past the shifting office spaces filled with Painted and Shaded enemies. This can be challenging on harder difficulties. Once you’ve dealt with them, you should be at the center.
The office is easily recognizable as it’s the only well-lit place on the floor. You know you’re heading the right way when you can hear music instead of the screams and anguish from the Shaded.
The code to this computer is 685298 and is found on a sticky note beside the screen.
