If you thought 2023 was a stacked year for gaming, 2024 is not looking to slow things down with the upcoming release of the Alone in the Dark remake.
Originally scheduled to be released during the stacked Halloween period (on 25 October to be more precise), alongside the likes of Spider-Man 2 or Super Mario Wonder, THQ Nordic decided to delay the game a couple of months to avoid getting lost in the sea of high-profile releases.
So, if you're interested in keeping the spooky season vibes alive way past October, then you're in luck. Here's everything you need to know about the Alone in the Dark remake.
Alone in the Dark - Release date and platforms
Originally slated for release on 25 October, the Alone in the Dark remake will now launch on 16 January 2024. It'll be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
The game is the seventh instalment in the Alone in the Dark video game series and a complete reimagining of the original 1992 title.
Alone in the Dark - Cost
The standard edition of Alone in the Dark will be sold for $60 or the equivalent depending on your region.
There is also a deluxe edition, which costs $70 and adds the following content:
- Vintage Horror Filters
- Director's Commentary Mode

If you decide to pre-order either the standard or deluxe editions you'll unlock the Derceto 1992 Costume Pack. A nice piece of nostalgic content for fans of the original Alone in the Dark.
