Animal Crossing: New Horizons is launching in under 24 hours, and with many debating whether to pick up the game, gamers want to know whether it will have a demo.
A demo would give people the chance to play the game and check out if they want to purchase the game.
In recent years, demos have become increasingly less common.
However, Nintendo released an hour-long demo of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX in January.
So will Animal Crossing Switch have a demo or beta?

Demo & Beta
As it stands, there are no plans for a demo for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Considering it's such a large sandbox game, it would be difficult to create a demo for it.
The only demo available has been shown during conferences such as E3 2019.
Although demos used to be very common, they are becoming far less. This is probably to stop people from playing the demo and being put off purchasing the game.
The new game is likely to be very similar to the past games, which is great if you're familiar with the series, but a problem if this is your first time taking notice of the franchise.
The Switch has offered gamers the opportunity to jump into the franchise where consoles like the DS, 3DS and Wii U may have been less appealing to casual gamers.
It would be wrong to rule it out completely however, Nintendo has recently released an hour-long demo of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX AND your progress will transfer over to the full game - it's a good sign that demos aren't dead.
A beta was never made available to the public and it would be too late in the game's development process to warrant one now.
