The Apex Legends Ballistic legend is the latest character making their way to the hugely popular battle royale. What separates Apex Legends from its rivals is its extensive roster of characters to choose from. Each one has their own set of abilities and Ballistic is no different.
Ballistic is the 24th legend and arrives as part of the Season 17 update. As with all legends, Ballistic comes with The former champion of the Thunderdome was retired until another opportunity to compete came knocking.

Apex Legends Ballistic lore
Thanks to Encore, an instalment of Stories from The Outlands series, we learn a little more about August Brinkman. Ballistic was a former champion of the Thunderdome Games, a tournament similar to the Apex Games. We also learn several legends were fans of Ballistic while he was competing.
A news report claims Ballistic's son has managed to secure qualification for the Apex Games, much to the annoyance of the former champion.
Elsewhere, Encore sees Ballistic gaining access to Duardo's office, demanding he can participate in the Apex Games for a chance at redemption following the death of former squadmate and wife Sok Leng Phua. It seems Ballistic has a point to prove as he re-enters the action after several years out of the spotlight.

Passive
The Whistler
The retired gunslinger's passive ability allows you to carry a third weapon in the sling. You can access it using your inventory if you want to use the additional weapon in combat. It's worth noting that the sling weapon can't have any attachments, so pick wisely.
Tactical
The Whistler
Ballistic's tactical fires a bullet that locks onto a nearby opponent. Once it hits the target, it debuffs them, leaving them very easy to eliminate.
Ultimate
The Tempest
The ultimate for Ballistic is one that's great for supporting your squadmates. All nearby teammates earn faster reload speeds, extra movement speed, and unlimited ammunition.
In addition, you will get your hands on your sling weapon that's immediately upgraded to gold, giving you the best chance of winning the fight.
Apex Legends Ballistic release date
Ballistic makes his way to Apex Legends as part of the Season 17 update which launches on May 9.
