April 22, 2022: The last good Wordle archive has, as expected, been asked to shut down by the New York Times. The site is still live with a final message, but you won't be able to play. We're hunting for a new Wordle archive now.

Looking for a Wordle archive? We've compiled a list of old Wordle answers to see exactly what the correct answer was for each day. Since a lot of Wordle archives seem to be going missing these days, we'll update ours daily with historical answers so you can see what you've missed.

We'll also dig a bit deeper into why Wordle archives seem to be disappearing from the internet, which has started to occur primarily since the NYT takeover of the popular word game. On top of that, we'll provide some handy instructions on how to play previous Wordle challenges, in case you fancy a trip down memory lane.

Of course, we've also got a daily Wordle answer guide, meaning you can see what the current Wordle solution is. That's on top of a Wordle clue guide if you need a helping hand with any particularly challenging puzzles. We've also got a list of games like Wordle if you're ready to branch out into other word-guessing spin-offs.

Is There A Working Wordle Archive?

Right now, isn't an active Wordle Archive that we're aware of. The last, which you can see right here, lasted three months before it was, like the rest, asked to shut down by the powers that be.

Why Are Wordle Archives Disappearing?

At the moment, Wordle archives are in the news plainly because they keep going missing. One of the biggest, imaginatively named "Wordle Archive", was wiped from the internet on March 16. It was a playable archive of old Wordle puzzles, where you could pick a date and play that challenge as it was on the original site.

However, the page now displays a message saying that the NYT requested they terminate the service. It's likely due to copyright claims, given the media company now owns Wordle and its contents. As such, unofficially hosting old Wordle puzzles was likely a violation, hence its deletion.

How Do I Play Old Wordle Puzzles?

If you used Wordle archive sites and still want the chance to play previous challenges, the good news is there's still a way. It's admittedly more time consuming than simply using Wordle archive sites, but given they keep disappearing, this is a method that will withstand the test of time.

Simply head to your device's calendar settings, then change the date on your device to a day of your liking in the past. Then refresh the Wordle website, and you should see one of those historic challenges to undertake. Remember to reset your calendar settings afterwards, though!

That's it for our guide on the current state of Wordle archive websites, as well as our own collection of previous answers. Be sure to check out our Heardle song guide and Wordle 2 word list for help in two of the biggest Wordle spin-offs as well. That way the fun doesn't have to end!
