The Assassin’s Creed franchise is no stranger to featuring co-op gameplay and several other features involving multiple players.
Fresh from the announcement of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and the revelation of a Viking setting complete with longboats and the ability to make decisions for your clan, the possibility for several co-op elements to be included into the new game is very high.
In this article, find out everything we know so far about co-op in Valhalla and what could feature in the new game.
Will There Be A Co-op Campaign?
The last Assassin’s Creed game to attempt a fully-fledged co-op campaign was all the way back when Assassin’s Creed: Unity was released in 2014.
Unity had a heavy focus on co-op gameplay as opposed to the story which disappointed a lot of fans. Six years on from Unity, Valhalla has plenty of potential to offer players a great co-op campaign, perhaps giving players the chance to invite friends to their respective clans to play through the missions.
Ubisoft has yet to confirm the presence of a co-op campaign in Valhalla but there is still plenty of time for such a feature to be announced before the game releases towards the end of 2020!
What Is A Custom Raider?
Although no details surrounding a co-op campaign were unveiled, the Ubisoft website did unveil a new feature known as “Custom Raider”
The feature allows players to upload their character online and participate alongside friends in battles while they play.
It also says that the raiders will be able to “reap the rewards” of the battles when they fight alongside their friends, implying that players will be able to earn in-game items without even being there.
Potential for Player Trading
In Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, players are able to collect and improve various pieces of armour in a similar way to The Division and Destiny.
This often leads to inventories becoming filled with various weapons and pieces of armour that players never end up using which opens the door for a potential marketplace for players to trade and exchange various in-game items with each other.
