What are the best tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage?

If we're talking about the Assassin's Creed Mirage best tools, then we don't need to look further than the Throwing Knife and Trap. They provide the best combat utility out of all the options.

Likewise, whenever you upgrade a tool, all the perks in a tier become available, though you're only allowed to select one for each tier. However, if you obtain the Engineer skill, it allows you to select a couple of tier 1 perks.

How to unlock more tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage

By default, you'll receive the Torch and the Throwing Knife as you progress early in the campaign. The rest - Trap, Smoke Bomb, Blowdart, and Noisemaker - require the Extra Tool Capacity skill, which can be found under the Trickster column. We don't really recommend prioritising the rank 2 and 3 skills, so you're better off allocating points for other perks. We suggest taking a look at our best skills guide for the ideal picks.

In any case, once you have the Extra Tool Capacity perk, simply head to a Hidden Ones Bureau in Baghdad, such as the one in Harbiyah. Talk to an NPC and select a tool that you'd like to unlock for use. We suggest the Trap as the top-tier option.

Best throwing knife upgrades

The reason why we consider the Throwing Knife as one of the best tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage is due to its viability in combat and exploration. Here are the reasons why it's so good:

  • A single headshot against unarmored soldiers will instantly kill them.
  • You toss a Throwing Knife when you use the Chain Assassination skill.
  • You can pick up the projectiles that hit your foes if you have the Knife Recovery skill.
  • Throwing Knives are often used to destroy latches that bar doorways, or to blow up distant explosive vases.

We recommend the following Throwing Knife upgrades:

  • Tier 1: Extra Capacity - This should be the first thing you grab out of all the possible upgrades. You're going to need the extra projectiles.
  • Tier 2: Heavy Blade - The tier 2 upgrades aren't that necessary, so Heavy Blade becomes the only viable option.
  • Tier 3: Armor-Piercing - You shouldn't get tier 3 upgrades so soon due to their costs. But, once you have the crafting items to spare, you'll want Armor-Piercing to make quick work of enemies that wear helmets.

Best trap upgrades

The Trap is also an amazing tool that you can use in the game. By default, it emits a gas cloud when an enemy gets too close, which knocks out multiple foes within a small radius. This allows you to follow up with a quick assassination.

We recommend the following upgrades for the Trap tool:

  • Tier 1: Extra Capacity - Yes, you're going to need extra charges.
  • Tier 2: Wide Burst - With an even bigger radius, you'll be able to knock out more opponents.
  • Tier 3: None - We didn't really like either of the two perks for this tier. Deadly Blast can sometimes cause other guards to investigate the noise, whereas Lingering Knockdown is unnecessary due to how fast you can assassinate prone targets.
