Assassin's Creed: What Is It About?
Players assume the role of either a male or female incarnation of Eivor, a Viking raider and the head of a clan in the Viking Age. While leading their clan to a new home (in England, where much of the game takes place), Eivor is forced to take some land by force following confrontations with the Great Heathen Army.
This brings Eivor into conflict with Alfred the Great, at this point in history known as the King of Wessex. He or she will also encounter the Hidden Ones (the Assassins), and join their battle against the Order of the Ancients (the nefarious Templars).
Of course, this being Assassin's Creed there's also a modern-day plotline to follow. Here, we'll be reunited with Layla, the contemporary lead character of both Assassin's Creed: Origins and Odyssey as she tries to decipher the secrets of the Isu.
