If you love the world of Pandora from James Cameron's Avatar movies, getting stuck into Ubisoft's imagining, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, will be perfect for you. However, since this is a new title, and one that looks to push things graphically, getting up to speed with the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora PC requirements will be a necessity.
In this guide, we’ll be running you through what you need to know. We’ll reveal whether your rig will be able to play the game right off the bat, or if you need to go out and acquire some component upgrades.
Once you secure your copy and boot up the game, be sure to check out our Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora review to see what we thought of the game. We'd also recommend you have a read of our other Avatar guides, such as how to heal, how to equip armour, how to use clan favour, and much more.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora PC minimum requirements
- OS – Windows 10/11 with DirectX12 API
- CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700k
- Memory – 16 GB RAM
- GPU – AMD RX 5700 8GB, Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB, or Intel ARC A750 8GB (REBAR ON)
- Storage – 90 GB available space (SSD)
Some additional notes to consider here are that Ubisoft states that these minimum specs are related to playing the game at 1080p with 30 FPS being the goal. The game also needs to be on the low graphical preset with FSR2 Quality being enabled.
As previously stated, Frontiers of Pandora is a graphically intensive title so it is not surprising that even at the minimum requirements, you’ll only be able to squeeze out 30 FPS. But, the fact you’ll be able to still use a trusty GTX 1070 is promising for those who are reluctant to upgrade their GPU.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora PC recommended requirements
- OS – Windows 10/11 with DirectX12 API
- CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 5600x or Intel i5 11600k
- Memory – 16 GB RAM
- GPU – AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB or Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
- Storage – 90 GB available space (SSD)
Again, some additional notes to think about here is that these requirements relate to someone wanting to play the game at 1080p at 60 FPS on a High graphics setting preset. You’ll also have to have FSR2 Quality turned on akin to that of the minimum requirements.
Falling in line with the minimum specs, the recommended requirements from Ubisoft are also a little unforgiving. The fact that you’ll need either a 5000 series AMD CPU or an 11000 series Intel chip can be out of reach for most who haven’t added to their PC in a while. Thankfully RAM stays the same, so you will still survive on the trusty 16 GB sticks that have been a main staple for some time now.
On the whole, you will need quite a powerful PC to be able to play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora comfortably. While this might be disappointing for some, it is sadly the world that we are living in now as many devs are ditching older-gen tech for games that are releasing exclusively on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles.
Regardless of what settings you get to play the game on though, it will still look breathtaking with a vast open world to explore and colours galore!
