Baldur's Gate 3 will be launching very soon for PC platforms. While players have enjoyed the game during the early access period, they won't be able to carry over their game data to the full release of the game. In line with that, the developers require players to delete their save files, so we've prepared a guide on how to delete saves in Baldur's Gate 3 below.
The game launched its early access format back in 2020. Since then, players have been enjoying the role-playing experience inspired by the iconic tabletop game, Dungeons & Dragons. With several updates and improvements that are surely added prior to the game's official launch, it's certain that there may be compatibility issues for the data of players who had the game since its early access.

How to delete saves in Baldur's Gate 3
On August 2, the developers of the game made a community post on Steam prior to the official launch of Baldur's Gate 3. They announced that "we’ve taken measures to ensure a smooth transition into the launch version of BG3, but we still recommend deleting your in-game Early Access save files if you still have access to an Early Access version of the game."
This is due to early access saves and player profiles becoming incompatible with the full version of the game, which can cause further issues.
To delete your saves in the game, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open Baldur's Gate 3.
2. On the main menu, click Load Game.
3. Click through old campaigns and select Delete Campaign.
This will ensure that saves are completely deleted from your computer, as well as your cloud. However, if you're planning to back up your saves before removing them, you can move them from %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios to another location for safekeeping, before removing them in-game.

Besides that, the developers also suggested that players uninstall the early access of the game. It should be noted that the full version of Baldur's Gate 3 doesn't have any pre-loads because this will break the Early Access saves. Additionally, any mods installed during the early-access period must be deleted as they can also cause issues and may break the game in unpredictable ways.
Overall, that's all the important information you should know on how to delete saves in Baldur's Gate 3. While it's difficult to lose all that progress, you're better safe than sorry so you can best experience the full version of the game.
