Batman: Arkham Knight was launched in a rough state when it came to Switch last year as part of the Arkham Trilogy and that hasn’t changed. Despite a massive update that came out recently, Arkham Knight is still a mess on Switch, though it is slightly more playable now.

Fans on the Nintendo Switch subreddit noticed that a 16GB update for Arkham Knight was released, with many hoping it would fix all of their problems. While the game is slightly more playable now, there are still quite a few frame drops and new problems rearing their head.

Despite this massive update, Batman: Arkham Knight still drops below the 30fps mark regularly, which isn’t great for a fast-paced action game. However, fans have noticed that riding around in the Batmobile is smoother now, which is important since the game makes you use it a lot. Even exploring around as Batman is slightly better, though this is still the worst version of the game.

Even with this massive update, there are still bugs that are preventing players from completing certain aspects of the game. The biggest progression bug is attempting to arrest The Riddler after finding all the trophies and beating him in a boss fight. Various comments have said that they try bringing him to GCPD and the game just crashes on them, which is unfortunate.

It seems that the folks at Warner Bros. still have a lot of work to do before this version of Batman: Arkham Knight can be deemed playable. At the least, both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are stable, so fans should have a good time with them. The fact that these games can’t be bought by themselves should be a crime, but this is Warner Bros. so we aren’t that surprised.

The Batman: Arkham Trilogy is readily available on Nintendo Switch, though fans are better off getting it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
