Battlefield 6 officially revealed its multiplayer trailer and release date, which has gotten fans of online shooters incredibly excited. While I do wonder if the shooter can still stand out with destruction physics, there’s no denying that the game is making a good impression. Those good vibes have only increased, as EA seems to be avoiding silly crossover skins.
For now, at least.
Alexia Christofi, Producer at DICE, spoke with ComicBook.com about the game’s skins and how they will be managed. Christofi admits that the devs at EA want players to look and feel cool, but in a way that’s authentic to being a military shooter. Based on the producer’s comments, it looks like this game will be avoiding ridiculous crossover skins, unlike Fortnite.
Here’s what Christofi had to say about the upcoming skins for Battlefield 6:
Leaked skins from MP1st seemingly confirm this, as everything we’ve seen thus far confirms these cosmetics will stick to realism. While having colorful cosmetics is never a bad thing, it is odd seeing so many games try to recapture the magic that Fortnite was able to create. Seeing all these movie characters appear in Call of Duty can be off-putting for many, so having Battlefield 6 stick with a realistic setting is good news to fans.

There’s a lot to like about Battlefield 6 right now, with an upcoming open beta and a proper single-player campaign confirmed. Some fans have complained about the expensive collector’s edition being released, but that’s just a lesser evil these days. Based on everything we’ve seen so far, this looks like the change the franchise needed.
