Melee weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard provide a viable alternative to some of the other secondary weapons available in the arsenal. While the choice of pistols can be tempting, utilising a melee weapon in close-quarters situations can often lead to more kills being scored due to their silent nature.

S-Tier
This may look like an unassuming knife that would look more suited to a kitchen but in the right scenarios, a single swipe from the FS Fighting Knife can halt the most skilled players in their tracks. The high mobility levels also enable players to sprint around the map as fast as possible, which can be ideal when attempting to reach a specific location before an enemy.
The Combat Shield in Vanguard heavily resembles the Riot Shield from previous titles. It's certainly handy to block any incoming gunfire but unless you're behind an unsuspecting opponent, it's very difficult to score any kind of elimination with but the additional protection it provides can prove extremely valuable on smaller maps such as Shipment and Radar.
B-Tier
Perhaps the most unique weapons within the Vanguard arsenal, the Katana and Sawtooth are a lot of fun to use if you're after a weapon to score spectacular eliminations with. From a practical perspective, they're not viable compared to the FS Fighting Knife and the Combat Shield.
