Stray has launched to a pretty huge fanbase. With an enchanting world and an adorable cat protagonist, it's no wonder why. This being said, it's not a long game, taking under eight hours to complete. If you're looking for a reason to play through another time or get a few more hours in, here are the best Stray mods out there right now.
As you might expect, this list will change a lot over time. As more people play the game and discover more of what there is to do, we are bound to see mods really shake up the base experience. We'll update you here as they come out.

The Best Stray Mods
Before we start, it's important to note that all of these mods come from NexusMods. Every download page will give you instructions on how they work but, for the most part, you simply have to locate the game's folder and drop them in. They should never be too difficult to get running. As the game is only playable on PC through Steam, you should run into very few issues.
Pick of the Litter By SpaceD0lphin
Pick of the Litter is a mod that gives you a handful of different cat presets, with different colours and features. If you want your cat to look just a little different, this is a great mod with a few different looks. There are much more specific cat mods but this is a good place to start.

DualShock Buttons By MrFunky Right
A fairly simple mod, this allows you to change the button prompts over to a DualShock configuration. On Steam, it only pops up with Xbox controls so, if you are used to playing on PlayStation, it's an easy fix.

Splitscreen By KangieDanie
This is one of the bigger mods out there right now due to the way it majorly shakes up the game. If you've been playing Stray and wish that world was just a little less lonely, the splitscreen mod will let you play it alongside a friend. It may change up the atmosphere a little so this is probably best saved for a replay.

Photorealistic Preset By JPTHEHERO
Stray is a game that looks incredible. The neon lights, decaying architecture - it all comes together well into an art style that is distinct yet detailed. The Photorealistic Preset mod only adds to this by making everything look just a little crisper. Use that PC hardware to get something truly special.

Garfield Cartoon Edition By Chris Rubino
The best way to round off this list of mods is with a few funny ones. If you've been playing Stray and wondering to yourself "How would this game look with Garfield in it?" we have the perfect mod for you.

Joke Mod CJ By sir_galahad172
Talked about nearly constantly since it was found earlier this week, this mod turns your adorable little cat into CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It's definitely one of the weirder mods out there.
