The official Activision blog for Call of Duty has announced the arrival of Call of Duty Points as virtual currency.
Players can now purchase Call of Duty Points to buy additional items for the game. And as an added bonus to get players started, players that log in on PS4, Xbox One, or PC will receive a one-time gift of 200 Call of Duty Points to use in Black Ops 3. The 200 Call of Duty Points is limited so log on fast to make sure you acquire your free in-game currency.
So what can you score with Call of Duty points?
If you feel you need more Supply Drops or Liquid Divinium in your life, Call of Duty Points could be the answer to your dilemma if you have the cash. The announcement also stated that Call of Duty Points could purchase other in-game items, but only mentioned the Extra Slots package.
No matter how you obtain your supply drops, the items are said to have the same contents. So players should not expect to receive better or worse gear depending on whether they earned with the Cryptokeys in game or purchased with Call of Duty Points. However, there are exciting new items coming which might entice people to spend some points or deliver Cryptokeys to that shady guy in the Black Market.
The new additions to the Black Market include three new melee items: the Butterfly Knife, Wrench, and Brass Knuckles. These three melee options act as a secondary weapon similar to the Combat Knife. The updated Black Market is also said to include new taunts, new sets of bodies and head variants for each Specialist, Epic rarity camos, and a several new Calling Cards.
These new changes are said to take place today, December 15th. Don’t forget to grab your free Call of Duty Points, and let us know if you find potential value in this new in-game currency.
