Black Ops 6 opened the Xbox Games Showcase and it showed fans a stellar-looking campaign that tries to make up for the crap Modern Warfare 3 put players through. With a Gulf War setting and an intriguing plot, fans who will play the new Call of Duty won’t just have to do it for the online multiplayer.

Opening the showcase, fans were treated to a two-minute trailer that showed off the gameplay and it looked like a really good time. Maybe it’s the Gulf War setting or the lack of Warzone-like areas, but this looks like a quality Call of Duty campaign, something hardcore fans have sorely missed.

It’s not just a single-player game, as the description for this Black Ops 6 gameplay trailer was quick to mention 6v6 maps and the like. Still, seeing so much focus on the single-player is going to make plenty of fans happy, especially those who played in the Xbox 360 days.

For those who didn’t pick up Modern Warfare 3 last year, the single-player campaign was considered by many to be the worst of this long-running series. With forced character deaths that tried getting emotions out of players and reused maps from Warzone, there wasn’t anything for fans to sink their teeth into.

Luckily, it seems all of that has changed and Black Ops 6 looks to be another solid campaign for the series. The yearly formula still isn’t great for Call of Duty, especially if it leads to more bland campaigns like in Modern Warfare 3. Gamers would love to see this change, but we doubt that will happen since these games are now coming out day one on Game Pass.

Overall, fans are happy with how Black Ops 6 is shaping up, especially since this is the best-looking single-player campaign in a while for this franchise. Let’s hope this becomes the norm for Call of Duty, since the series has been focusing on multiplayer a lot lately. Black Ops 6 is coming out on October 25 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
