Blood Bowl 3 is a perfect blend of Warhammer and American Football. Not only can the Blood Bowl 3 teams score touchdowns, but they can also injure, maim and kill their opposition. It’s a brutal game that will run on the newly updated Second Edition ruleset from the board game. This means there are new skills and mechanics to learn once you reach the field.
There are also both single-player and multiplayer modes. A brand-new solo campaign sees you as a coach of a new team taking on the new Blood Bowl event, the Clash of Sponsors. Alternatively, you can try your luck in one of the new competitive modes. Either way, you'll need to know which team suits you best!

Blood Bowl 3 teams - All confirmed teams
Blood Bowl 3 will start out with 12 teams in its opening roster. They are as follows:
- Black Orcs
- Imperial Nobility
- Chaos Chosen
- Chaos Renegade
- Dark Elves
- Dwarfs
- Elven Union
- Humans
- Nurgle
- Old World Alliance
- Orcs
- Skaven
It's likely that more teams will be added as future DLC. After it came out, Blood Bowl 2 released 16 more teams that you could buy separately. These included Chaos Dwarfs, Nurgle, Khemri, and the Kislev Circus. We can expect to see something similar with Blood Bowl 3.
The development of Blood Bowl 3 was certainly rocky from start to finish. Only a few years after Blood Bowl 2 was released, Games Workshop released a new ruleset: Blood Bowl Second Season Edition. This meant that the rules and mechanics in Blood Bowl 2 were suddenly outdated. If players wanted to play with the newly updated version of the game, then they were out of luck. Cyandide Studio stepped in, and not long afterwards, announced that it was working on Blood Bowl 3.
After a slew of delays, in February 2023, almost two years after it was originally meant to hit the stores, Blood Bowl 3 is finally going to release. It promises a lot of new features and is certainly a welcome addition to the Warhammer community. For more on the game prior to its release, check out our Blood Bowl 3 release date hub!
