Looking to delve back into another Obsidian Entertainment RPG before the release of Pentiment later this year?
Well, if the bright lights of Fallout New Vegas are calling to you once more and you’re looking for ways to spice the game up that won’t break the flow of nostalgia by forcing you to adapt your tried and tested muscle memory in new ways, you might be in luck.
You see, a classic mod that’s reigned near the top of Nexus Mods’ most downloaded page for New Vegas since 2010 has just received an update that makes it fit to compete with the best that the 2022 modding scene can offer.
Get Ready to Hunt Down New Vegas’ Baddest of the Bad One More Time
Uploaded by modder RoyBatterian, the new mod, called “New Vegas Bounties I LE” brings the first of the old-school series of New Vegas bounty hunting mods by Someguy2000 up to date by fixing and remastering a few elements.
Among the changes made are a swath of bug fixes, some adjustments to the mods files in order to make them run more efficiently on modern hardware and some re-voiced audio lines.
However, don’t worry about not getting the authentic experience of the original mod, as the updated version is designed to still honour its vision.
That said, if you’re playing on an older machine or have a save that relies on content from the original mods, don’t fret, as they’re still available to download on the Nexus, with “New Vegas Bounties I”, “New Vegas Bounties II” and “New Vegas Bounties III” making up the trilogy.
Regardless of which you choose, no matter whether you’ve played through the mod a million times before or if this is your first time diving into it, you’ve got a great experience waiting for you, with the mod series tasking you with “tracking down the most malevolent and vile assortment of outlaws in the Mojave Wasteland”.
These foes take the forms of everything from cannibals to rogue NCR rangers and are designed to provide a boss-calibre challenge, so be sure to stock up on bullets, practice with your plasma guns or bring along your trustiest super sledge.
Also, maybe avoid this mod if you’re looking for a PG New Vegas experience to show your kids, as the description states that: “extreme violence and profanity are ubiquitous”.
If you’re down with that, download way, saddle up and make sure you follow us for coverage of some Skyrim and Elden Ring mods you might like.
