Activision's Q2 earnings call may have revealed some details about Call of Duty 2020 (which you can read here) but the company was unusually coy on its plans for next-gen pricing.
As reported by CharlieINTEL, Activision's president Rob Kostich declined to comment on the pricing model for PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game.
Call of Duty 2020 Pricing Not Revealed
As per the earnings call, Kostich explained: "in regards to next-gen pricing, what I’ll say here is we’ll be sharing our plans soon, so I’m not going to share anything today."
Speaking directly about the PS5 and Xbox Series X, Activision's president went on to say "we're [Activision] just very excited for the launch of the new generation hardware."
"We think it represents another strong leap forward in creating a really incredible entertainment and value for our fans as we look forward."
Activision have long been seen as a company that puts their balance sheet first, but it's Take-Two Interactive that have been the first to confirm a shift in price point for next-gen titles. NBA 2K21 will retail at $70 for PS5 and Xbox Series X, $10 more than the current-gen versions. The publisher did, however, note that prices could be altered on a game-by-game basis.
