Weapons are the heart of Black Ops 6, central to every mode and core to the experience. Each weapon type has various customization options through attachments, skins, and mods.

The Inspect Weapon feature complements this customization by letting players view their personalized setups in-game. This article walks you through inspecting your weapons up close and showing off your customizations.

How To Inspect Weapons in Black Ops 6

To inspect your weapon in Black Ops 6, you’ll want to understand the feature fully, as it’s somewhat different from previous Call of Duty games and has a few quirks to keep in mind.

Start by choosing the weapon you want to examine—whether it’s a primary firearm, a secondary sidearm, or even a melee weapon.

Press and hold the left D-Pad button for players using controllers on consoles like PlayStation or Xbox.

Holding this button opens the emotes menu, and as soon as you release it, your character will automatically begin inspecting the weapon.

If you’re on a keyboard, simply press the "I" key (or the key bound to inspections if you’ve customized controls) to initiate the weapon inspection instantly. When you inspect your weapon, your character can’t move, exposing you temporarily.

While admiring your hard-earned camo or unique weapon skin is tempting, inspect only in safer areas or during downtime during the match.

If danger strikes unexpectedly, you can end the animation by pressing any action button (like aiming or firing), which will break out of the inspection view, though it may cause a slight delay.

Each weapon in Black Ops 6 has a default inspection animation that shows details like the camo, magazine, and attachments. However, many weapons, especially rare or limited-edition skins, have unique inspection animations.

Some weapon blueprints from the in-game store even include unique animations that emphasize their design, giving you that extra flair when showing off your setup.

You can preview these animations when selecting or purchasing blueprints, making picking ones that suit your style easier.

Inspecting weapons in Black Ops 6 is straightforward once you get the hang of it.
