Crossplay has been both a blessing and a curse for many Call of Duty players.

More players, faster matchmaking? Nice. But it also means more chances for cheating and other issues.

After hearing the community's concerns, could Season 2 finally give Black Ops 6 players the option to ditch crossplay in Ranked?

Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming changes.

Is Crossplay Disable Finally Happening?

Crossplay has been a hot topic in the Call of Duty community, and for good reason.

It expands the pool of players, speeds up matchmaking, and allows you to team up with friends on different platforms, but there are some trade-offs.

The increase in cheating, especially on PC, has quickly become a major issue.

Cheaters exploit the customizable nature of PC hardware, which makes it unfair for console players who can’t keep up.

Given the backlash Black Ops 6 has gotten over cheating issues in Ranked Play, the crossplay-disable feature in Black Ops 6 is a much-needed tweak to make matches more even.

Now you can switch off crossplay in Ranked Play, meaning console players won’t automatically face off with PC players.

This update focuses on Ranked Play, where fairness matters most, and cheaters have been more problematic than in casual modes.

Although this is progress, Treyarch and Activision have clarified that the crossplay toggle will not be available across all modes immediately.

The devs are taking it slow, observing how the feature plays out in the game and with the community. It might eventually appear in other modes.

The crossplay toggle is part of the wider update coming to Black Ops 6 in Season 2.

The team is also implementing strict measures to curb cheating, a major issue in Ranked Play and Warzone.

Call of Duty’s Ricochet anti-cheat is getting a major upgrade to catch common cheats like aimbots more easily.

With tweaks on both ends, the system has a much tougher defense against the troublemakers.

Season 2 will also resolve some of the server issues that have plagued Black Ops 6 since launch and the anti-cheat fixes.
