How To Quickscope And No Scope With Sniper Rifles In Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the talk of the town at the moment with a return to the old storyline that made the series one of the most recognisable in the franchise history.

To date, Treyarch games have always been a lot more difficult to snipe in.

However, this year it seems easier than ever!

You may have noticed yourself being picked off by snipers on a regular basis and fancy trying it out for yourself.

Here's how to effectively quickscope and no scope in Black Ops Cold War.

How To Quickscope In Black Ops Cold War

Quickscoping is quite easy to execute, but difficult to master as it requires a good level of anticipation, great reaction time and excellent accuracy.

It's the same as regularly aiming down sights, but the action is so pinpoint accurate and fast, it negates the need to stay scoped and line up your shot.

You'll want to ensure, first off, you have a good quickscoping class. A good setup that I would recommend is the following:

Pellington 703

  • 26.5" Tiger Team (Barrel)
  • Steady Aim Laster (Body)
  • 7 RND Speed Mag (Magazine)
  • Speed Tape (Handle)
  • CQB Pad (Stock)

I would recommend switching up the attachments to find what works for you, because if you're running around a lot you may want to focus on attachments that let you come out of your running animation faster than normal.

Whereas if you're a bit more passive, you may need to focus more on the speed of your ADS time.

So how do you quickscope, the best thing to do is lead with your crosshairs and align your enemy in the middle of them.

Once done, you'll want to pull the left trigger to aim down your scope, then as soon as you see the crosshairs on your sniper scope appear to press the right trigger to fire.

LINE 'EM UP: Line up your target in the centre of your crosshairs

By doing this, you negate any idle sway that would naturally come with the sniper scope and it will always shoot dead centre from your cross-hairs.

You're not always going to be able to line it up perfectly, which is when you can start to drag scope. If you can do this quickly and effectively, you'll still be able to reap the benefits of your quick scope whilst moving the scope quickly.

It's best if you up your horizontal sensitivity for this as it will allow you to quickly make fine adjustments to your shot and slap on to the target.

When you've got the hand of this, you can chain these together by releasing the left trigger straight after you have fired and line-up your next target.

It can be simple enough to do this on static objects, so you'll need to lead your shots and crosshairs if you want to hit players that are moving.

It will take practice, but get used to how long your scope aims in, to get an idea of how early you need to start aiming in.

How To No Scope In Black Ops Cold War

This is far more difficult to execute consistently as it's completely random.

Essentially, you're shooting without aiming down your scope and killing your opponent.

The crosshairs on a sniper are quite open and your bullet can shoot anywhere in this area and there's no way to control it.

That's why you'll want to put on attachments that minimise the area your crosshairs make.

It's also worth getting as close as possible to your opponents to ensure you have a bigger target and potentially take advantage of the aim assist (for controller players).

There aren't many techniques to help improve the accuracy of no scopes, but we can explore a few theories from older Call of Duty games.

By pressing the weapon swap button (Y or Triangle) before shooting can sometimes encourage a more straight shot.

Moving side to side and coming to a hault can also sometimes help encourage a straight shot as it can often reset the random element within hipfiring.
