Black Ops Cold War: Update 1.05 Patch Notes - When Does Double XP End?

Black Ops Cold War has been out for less than a week and we're already on version 1.05.

This new update is a strange one as it seemingly seems to fix nothing.

Treyarch and Activision are yet to release any concrete patch notes, just as they have failed to do for the small fixes prior to this one.

But we can certainly speculate or understand what is coming.

Black Ops Cold War Update 1.05 Patch Notes

This small update is 115 MB in size and seemingly only changes a few things.

The biggest update is that Double XP is now live across all platforms!

PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC players can enjoy a wealth of XP thanks to Treyarch activating the recent bonus.

Double XP went live at 6pm GMT on Sunday night (15th November).

This Double XP period was only intended to last for 24 hours, but Treyarch has graciously extended it by 24 hours.

Double XP will now end at 6pm GMT on Tuesday 17th November.

Update: 2XP is currently live in #BlackOpsColdWar MP and will be coming to Zombies later today. To make sure everyone gets their time to grind, we're extending 2XP by 24 hours through 10AM PT Tuesday, Nov. 17! pic.twitter.com/ElWAPpy2nb

The offering extends to both Multiplayer and Zombies as Treyarch continue to uphold their commitment to making a truly universal experience.

This opportunity has likely arisen after criticism was made of the games slow levelling up system and lobbies being littered by the MP5 - this year's go-to weapon.

Perhaps it is a tactical Double XP opportunity to get players more attachments and give them a more informed decision about what needs changing in their first major update.

@Tony_Flame has already seen "some interesting trends", but it's "too soon" to make conclusions.

The Treyarch game designer will no doubt be paying close attention to what the community is using and how it's impacting gameplay.

Other than that, PS4's update information has confirmed "Security and Stability fixes" have been made to the game; which can be expected and are likely so small they aren't worth highlighting.

This is the same generic changelog that becomes available with almost every update.

Treyarch has been very good at updating us with what's going on, so if it was worth highlighting, they would have done so.
