Modern Warfare 2019 may be heading into its sixth season, but Xbox (and PC) fans could be able to get something they've not been able to play since the game launched - Survival mode!
The PlayStation-exclusive mode is scheduled to be available for other platforms from October 1, and while there's no guarantee it'll land on the Xbox or PC versions, we'd hope it would.
Here's everything we know:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Survival Mode Xbox Release
What is Survival mode?
Survival mode is part of Modern Warfare's spec-ops suite of content.
It essentially revolves around waves of enemies piling onto the player and their squad, with the likes of aerial bombardments and Juggernauts arriving, too.
Players can earn currency to buy new weapons, air support and explosives, and playing Survival helps level your character up to unlock perks.
Xbox Release Date
Good news, folks - it's available now for all players, regardless of platform!
Combat Packs
It's not just Survival mode that PlayStation fans have been able to grab during the period of exclusivity.
PlayStation Plus members have been able to grab a Combat Pack each season, allowing for cosmetic upgrades for the game's operators in multiplayer, Spec-Ops and Warzone.
How Many Waves Are There?
There is an infinite number of waves in Survival, so don't expect to make it out alive.
Instead, focus on getting as far as you can!
Can You Play Survival In Split Screen?
Yes! If you fancy squadding up with a friend, you'll just need them to sign in with their Activision ID. Once that's done, you'll be able to battle waves of enemies together!
Tips
Anything that applies to multiplayer applies here, but communication is key.
Once you're dead, you're dead, so be sure to hunker down in cover and just try to survive if all else fails - just like you would in Warzone.
Then there are your weapons, which you'll level up remarkably quickly in Survival mode. Don't be afraid to experiment with a new gun or class setup, but be prepared to get your game face on when things get tougher.
