Halo Infinite is a decidedly different beast to its predecessors, featuring the largest map of any Halo game to date. Its design is much closer to an open world game than the more linear tendencies of Halo 3, for instance. As such, some of the features that long-time Halo fans may expect are simply absent in Halo Infinite.
This extends to the way story missions are handled in the campaign, which cannot be replayed. Let's take a closer look at the story missions, and why they cannot be replayed currently.

Halo Infinite: Can You Replay Campaign Story Missions?
Once you have cleared the campaign in Halo Infinite, there is no way to replay story missions. This means that all collectables tied to story missions will need to be collected as you go. If you've missed some, you will need to start all over again. We've played through the entirety of the campaign, and found that once we'd been placed back on Zeta Halo after the end credits, we were unable to replay any story missions. Even further, some of the locations that we'd previously visited, like the House of Reckoning, were then completely inaccessible.
Microsoft confirmed to Polygon that it is not possible to replay story missions. They stated:
'The postgame does give you the option to keep exploring the wider environment, but for missions like the first two, where you’re not on the ring yet, you can’t replay from the same save file,'
This is in line with our experience playing through the campaign. To replay story missions, you need to start a completely new save. This isn't exactly unheard of in other shooting games, especially ones with a more open world structure, but it's certainly out of character for a Halo game.
Is a Mission Replay Function Being Added?
Thanks to a report published by The Verge, we now know that the ability to replay campaign missions will be added to Halo Infinite at a later date. 343 Industries associate creative director Paul Crocker said in an interview.
“We want to have replay that works well, and when you have a more open game, it gets a lot trickier,” he said. “So we made a decision to improve the quality of the single-player campaign to ensure that, as a foundation, that it’s as strong as it possibly could be so that we could then add the other features back in.”
This is great news for those looking to mop up the collectables that they might have missed in story missions. There's no word on when this feature will be added in, so hold tight for more updates to this guide in the future.
