When is the Counter Strike 2 beta Limited Test?

You’ll be happy to hear that the Counter Strike 2 test is going on right now, but you might be wondering how you gain access to it?

How to get access to Counter Strike 2 beta limited test

Well, according to the FAQs, which you can read here, players wanting to take part in the Counter Strike 2 beta test “…are selected based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing.”

Unfortunately, it sounds as if not everyone will be able to get into the test, at least not straight away. But you’ll definitely have a better chance if you have recently played on Valve servers.

So, having recent playtime on games such as Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, and of course, Counter Strike: Global Offensive will increase your chances of getting in. And apparently having a Steam account with a solid trust factor and high standing will improve your odds of being allowed into the test.

When the download is complete, relaunch Counter Strike: Global Offensive and select the “Limited Test" option to play the Counter Strike 2 Limited Test.

The FAQs say that more players will be added to the test over time, and that players should keep checking their Counter Strike: Global Offensive main menu to see if they have received an invite. So, don’t feel too disappointed if you haven’t been invited yet, as it seems Valve will be adding more players to the test over the coming months.

Counter Strike 2 release date

An exact release date for Counter Strike 2 has yet to be announced, but it has been given a Summer 2023 release window, so assumingly the Limited Test will continue running until then.

Oh, and don’t worry about all your expensive knife and gun skins: Valve has said that all inventory items from Counter Strike Global Offensive will carry over to Counter Strike 2.
