Crash On The Run just came to mobile devices and the game is surprisingly decent, as the auto-runner genre lends itself well to the hallway platforming of classic Crash Bandicoot, so if you’ve always wanted a Crash game on your mobile device, this is the game to check out, even if it does fall victim to the usual trappings that plague a free-to-play mobile game.
Even with those trappings, the colorful visual style and addictive gameplay of Crash On The Run do sort of makeup for that, especially since some of those classic Crash Bandicoot mechanics work surprisingly well for the auto-runner genre, making us wonder why it took so long for the platforming icon to make his way to mobile devices.

Crash On The Run: How To Unlock The Retro Crash Skin
Like most auto-runners, Crash On The Run has a number of skins for players to unlock, though the best one in the game, hands-down, is the Retro Crash Skin.
As the name implies, this makes the default Crash model in the game look more like his low-polygon self from the PSOne days.
Unfortunately, unlocking that skin is gonna take some work because you will need 400 Crystals to play as Retro Crash.
Getting Crystals in Crash On The Run isn’t the easiest task, as players have to level up a lot or try to complete Challenge Runs that only give you two Crystals, while the free ads don’t give you that many Crystals either.
It’s probably easier to just use real-life money to get the Crystals or to keep beating the bosses and earning XP to level up and try to grind those Crystals out.
This isn’t the first Crash Bandicoot game to make nostalgia a selling point since both Crash Team Racing - Nitro-Fueled and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time also have Retro Skins so it wasn't a surprise to see one turn up in Crash On The Run, though it was still appreciated.
Crash On The Run is now available on iOS and Android devices.
