Apex Legends is a huge, free-to-play online battle royale game with multiple gameplay modes for you to choose from. You can team up with other players to become a pair or trio to battle against other squads to become the champions. You can delve into 3vs3 PvP matches in Arenas to be dubbed the winning squad or test your skills to climb the ranks in ranked modes.

Battle royale and arenas both have slightly different rules, but the end goal is the same, you must be the last squad standing. In every mode, you have a selection of Legends that you can choose to play as and there is a plethora of loot for you to choose from. You can customise multiple areas of your game, from how your Legends and weapons look, to the quips you can use to taunt other players. However, the customisation options don't end there!

In this guide, we're going to show you how to change your crosshair colour to make a custom reticle.

How to Change Crosshair Colour to Create a Custom Reticle

To change your crosshair colour, you need to head into your settings in the game. You can do this mid-match, but it's much safer to do it while you are in the main menu. Once you open up the settings menu, scroll down until you find the "Reticle" setting. It will be between the "Communication Filter" and "Accessibility" settings.

Select the "Customize" option and it will take you to another screen. Here, you have multiple options for changing the colour of your reticle on most weapons. There are two colour sliders where you can pick a unique colour for your reticle, or you can use one of the recommended colours on the right of the screen.

A Tip for Testing the Reticle

We've found that the best way to change and safely test your new reticle colour is to do so in the firing range. You can enter the firing range through the menu on the bottom left of your screen in the main menu. This is where you can switch between all of the game modes on offer and the firing range is a small option above all of them. This way, you can play around with your crosshair colours and test out which one is the best for you, without risking death.

Since the game was released in 2019, multiple things have been added to Apex Legends that take each mode up a notch.
