Here are some highlights from the three-day event, along with the list of teams that qualified for the Global Pro League.
Day One
Day one of the CWL Dallas Open saw an intense start to the weekend. OpTic Gaming were firing on all cylinders for the opening day, even crushing Team EnVyUs in the eClasico matchup.
Former champs, Rise Nation, crumbled on day one, losing to Splyce and Enigma6. Looney’s team continues to struggle since their Vegas win.
At the end of the day OpTic Gaming, eUnited, FaZe Clan and Splyce all dominated their groups with the number one spot.
Day Two
The second day in Dallas saw several upsets as the Open Bracket teams made their presence known. GoSu Crew sent Team EnVyUs into the Losers Bracket and Team Kaliber ended eUnited’s win streak in a fierce game five, round 11.
Cloud9 had a better performance than previous events, but Splyce were able to take the series 3-1.
In a battle to be Australia’s best, Mindfreak showed up and defeated Tainted Minds in a crucial matchup to secure the lone APAC spot in the CWL Global Pro League.
Open Bracket fighters, GoSu Crew, were on fire all day but unfortunately lost to FaZe in a gruelling game five of S&D. FaZe, Splyce, and OpTic all remained undefeated on day two.
Day Three
Evil Geniuses and the GoSu Crew battled for the final NA spot in the Global Pro league, and EG took the series 3-1.
OpTic Gaming remained an undefeated force which pushed them right into the Championship Bracket. The Green Wall dropped Splyce and forced FaZe clan into the Losers Bracket to fight eUnited for a chance at the Championship. The CWL Atlanta champs, eUnited, toppled Clayster and co. to provide us with a repeat match up of CWL Atlanta: OpTic Gaming vs. eUnited.
eUnited took the first best of five, forcing the Green Wall into a second series which came all the way down to game five.
