CWL Summer Masters: Group A Prediction

As the Black Ops 3 season nears its climax at CoD XP, we head into the Gfinity CWL Summer Masters.

Consisting of some top European talent in Group A, HyperGames, LDLC, Orbit EU & Crane will be battling it out for the top two seeds in the group, in order to make it into the knockout bracket. Let's take a look at the teams.

HyperGames

Qwiker | Nolson | Brain | Zed

After securing the top spot in Stage 2 of the European CWL, HyperGames are the team to watch in Group A. Consisting of some of the best talent in Europe, HG are looking to make it into the knockout phase of the tournament but at ESWC, they appeared to struggle, losing to Team Vitality in Paris to be eliminated from the competition. The real question for this team is can they perform in an offline environment? We'll have to wait and see.

Team Orbit

DReeaLL | Cosmo | Shukz | Subsist

Making it through the online qualifiers are Team Orbit, a team consisting of German, English and Dutch talent. Having looked impressive throughout the online qualifiers, can the squad mount a challenge against LDLC and HyperGames? I certainly think so. The explosive SMG players can definitely make life difficult for any team. Orbit is my dark horse of the group.

Team LDLC

Shane | Watson | Niall | Carbines

It's been a challenging season for LDLC. Finishing a disappointing 9th in the CWL and losing player Bran during Stage 2, Shane & co are coming into the tournament as serious underdogs. However, this squad certainly has the talent in the forms of Shane and Watson. Could they give the top teams a serious challenge?

Team Crane

PleasR | Wany | Rufia | Muscova

Also qualifying online are French team Crane. Familiar face PleasR leads a team of fairly unknown players into battle with some of Europe's finest CoD teams. In my opinion, I think that it will be a challenge for the French squad to win a series but I can see them taking a couple of maps against LDLC and Orbit.

Predictions

1st - HyperGames

2nd - LDLC

3rd - Team Orbit

4th - Crane

Group A is looking to be a highly contested affair, but I think that HyperGames will comfortably make it out of the Group, with the number one seed. The sheer amount of talent on the HG squad should make light work of the opposition.

As for the second seed, it will be a much closer battle. In my opinion, all of these squads are evenly matched but I think the experience of the LDLC players will shine through and they will grab the second spot by the skin of their teeth.
