April 11, 2024 - We've updated our Michael Myers build guide with some useful tips and tricks.

The best Dead By Daylight Michael Myers build uses his terrifying powers to his advantage.

One of the most famous killers in the history of horror films, Michael Myers was added to the Dead by Daylight lineup in October 2016. Equipped with his iconic knife and powers, Michael Myers stalks his prey one by one.

Michael Myers is referred to as "The Shape" in Dead By Daylight, but we will be using his original name for clarity purposes. Nevertheless, here is a collection of his best perks and add-ons. Tips and tricks are also included at the end of this article for easier hunting.

Dead by Daylight Michael Myers perks

Michael Myers has three unique perks that can be unlocked for other Killers via the Bloodweb.

Save the Best for Last

Each time you hit a Survivor that isn't your Obsession with a basic attack, you gain one token up to a max of eight tokens. You gain a stackable 5% cooldown reduction on successful attacks per token, up to a max of 40%. If you hit your Obsession, however, you lose 4/3/2 tokens, and if your Obsession is killed or sacrificed you’re unable to gain or lose any more tokens.

Dying Light

Each time you hook a Survivor that isn't your Obsession, you gain one token up to a max of 11. For as long as the Obsession is alive, other Survivors suffer from a stackable 2/2.5/3% penalty to repairing, healing, and sabotaging speeds per token. The downside to this however is that your Obsession gains a permanent 33% speed to unhooking and healing other Survivors.

Play With Your Food

Each time you let your Obsession escape in a chase, you gain one token out of three. Each token applies a 3/4/5% stackable haste status effect, getting you quickly up to the max buff of 9/12/15%. Attacking with a basic attack or special attack loses you one token.

The best Michael Myers build in Dead By Daylight

We would go with the following perks for the best possible Shape build:

Coup de Grâce

This perk will enable Michael Myers to perform lunge attacks with a ridiculous range. Michael Myers with Coup de Grâce paired with the haste perks below will make it a breeze to hunt for survivors.

Play With Your Food

Haste is one of the best powers for Michael Myers and this perk will grant him just that. Every time Michael Myers lets the Obsession escape in a chase, Play With Your Food will grant a stackable haste effect for additional movement speed.

Save the Best for Last

This perk needs a little bit of strategising because of its effects. Each time Michael Myers hits a survivor who isn't the obsession, this perk will gain one token, which grants a 5% cooldown for each stack.

Infectious Fright

The cries of the unfaithful make your heart leap. Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for several seconds.

Alternative Dead By Daylight Michael Myers builds

Michael Myers is a very imposing Killer to meet in the game due to his height and his unemotional mask. To make him more terrifying, these builds created by content creators are a must in matches.

Dead By Daylight Michael Myers beginner build

  • Jolt
  • Dying Light
  • Sloppy Butcher
  • Save the Best for Last

Dead By Daylight Michael Myers The Shape meta build

This meta build was created by YouTuber Miztah Monstur and focuses on these four perks:

  • Save the Best for Last (The Shape)
  • Sloppy Butcher
  • Dissolution (The Dredge)
  • A Nurse's Calling (The Nurse)

These four perks combine into one nasty Michael Myers build. Save the Best for Last will make the Killer obsessed with one Survivor and can stack up to 8 tokens. Each token will decrease 5% the successful basic attack cooldown by making the Killer attack faster. Sloppy Butcher pairs up with the previous perk by adding Hemorrhage and Mangled status effects which decrease healing progression and increase the time required to heal up.

Dissolution will break the pallet that the Survivor vaults over within the Killer's Terror Radius, which means fewer pallets to use, lessening the chances of escaping Michael Myers. Lastly, A Nurse's Calling will show Survivors who are currently healing giving Myers their location and slowly creep up to them.

Dead By Daylight Michael Myers Well-Rounded The Shape build

There is one unfortunate feature that Michael Myers has: its struggles in various areas. It does excel in one which is downing and killing survivors when he gets his hands on them. This build fixes his early weaknesses and then slowly makes him powerful as the match progresses.

  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)
  • Deadlock (The Cenobite)
  • Tinkerer (The Hillbilly)
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death

With Corrupt Intervention, the beginning of the match is already at your advantage. Deadlock and Tinkerer offer support that tracks Survivors across the field. Hex: No One Escapes Death is insurance for Killers in case the match favours the Survivors more.

Dead By Daylight Michael Myers power

Michael Myers' power is called Evil Within. Evil Within is a power that comes in three tiers, with The Shape starting at tier one the moment a game starts. At tier one, Michael is granted the Undetectable status effect with a slightly decreased movement and lunge range.

At tier two, Michael Myers has a reduced Terror Radius of 16 metres, but with a regular movement and lunge range, as well as an increased vault speed. He is unable to go back to tier one at this point.

Once at tier three, Survivors gain the Exposed status effect - meaning they can be put into the dying state with one hit - for 60 seconds. Michae Myers then also gains a regular Terror Radius of 32 metres, with an increased lunge range and a moderately increased vault speed.

To increase in tiers, Michael Myers must first find Survivors and use his Stalk ability and gain points. Survivors have a limited amount of Stalk points, which are conveyed through the outline they display when being stalked. If they have a white outline, they haven’t yet been stalked so you can gain points from them. However, if they have a red outline then you will get very little to nothing from stalking this Survivor.

Best add-ons for Michael Myers in Dead By Daylight

Michael Myers's add-ons are mostly used to increase/decrease his Terror Radius and affect his Stalk ability. However, some add-ons are incredibly fun for Michael Myers players who just want to play the big man as he should - by being scary as all hell.

Fragrant Tuft of Hair

An add-on that gives you unlimited tier three, meaning all Survivors are a one-hit down. Even better when paired with Judith's Tombstone - which lets you kill Survivors without hooking them while in tier three - allowing you to mop up Survivors in the end-game. An incredibly strong couple of Iridescent add-ons.

Judith's Journal

Increases the amount of Evil (Stalk points) you gain from your Obsession. Very useful when you’re trying to get to tier three as fast as possible, and best paired with the perk Play With Your Food for maximum speed and devastation.

J.Myers Memorial

Increases the amount of Evil you gain from Survivors. Again, this is fairly useful when combined with other add-ons that help with causing absolute mayhem when you reach Tier 3 as it not only focuses on the Obsession.

Tombstone Piece

This allows you to kill Survivors (Healthy or Injured) by your hand when you have Tier 3. This is effective for thinning the herd of Survivors fairly quickly, and while it considerably drains your Evil to kill a Survivor, it doesn’t take as much to get to Tier 3 as it would with the Iridescent add-ons.

Dead by Daylight Michael Myers tips and tricks

  • Use perks that let you know where Survivors are, such as Discordance. These are particularly useful when you’re in tier one, as you can find people quickly to tier up and get better movement and lunge range.
  • Try to grab Survivors off a generator during tier one. Your Terror Radius is incredibly small at tier one, making it easier for you to sneak up on Survivors and grab them without getting into a chase.
  • One of the best times to stalk Survivors is near pallets as they can get stuck, making them easy prey.
  • Michael Myers starts slow, so slowdown perks like Hex: Ruin or Corrupt Intervention go a long way for players looking to get to tier two as fast as they can.
  • Scratched Mirror Myers is the best add-on if you want to play Michael as he is in his movies. You're constantly stuck in tier one, but you're able to see Survivors through walls - meaning you can get the jump on them by waiting around corners or hiding behind walls near generators. It's absolutely terrifying but so, so fun to play.
  • Infectious Fright paired with tier three Michael Myers is very powerful. if you down someone and the perk activates, you're able to move on to your next victim and cause a snowball effect against Survivors. However only do this if you're certain you can get other Survivors down, otherwise, you'll lose pressure.
