Fear not, fellow Travelers, we'll soon be able to use the Genshin Impact Dendro element and harness the power of nature across Teyvat. Dendro Visions will be coming with the big 3.0 update, which will also bring us the Sumeru region to explore. Here's everything we know about the new Genshin Impact element ahead of time.
New characters, releasing in upcoming banners, have been seen to use Dendro. After years of promising the next big elemental reaction for us to mess around with, there's likely quite a backlog of characters to release who wield Dendro ready to toss leaves around like a Bulbasaur. So far, we know of four confirmed Dendro Vision users.
Genshin Impact is alive with activity, so why not check out our up-to-date tier list, codes page, and our page on everything update 2.8. We're also starting to look at the big Genshin Impact 3.0 update as well, which is likely to include everything we thought would arrive in the Genshin Impact 2.9 update originally expected toward the beginning of August.
When is the Genshin Impact Dendro element release date?
The Dendro element and its' users are arriving in Genshin Impact Version 3.0 with the Sumeru region, on August 24.
Genshin Impact Dendro characters
Hoyoverse has now confirmed four Dendro using characters: Tighnari, Collei, Alhaitham, and Nahida. We also know that the Traveler will be able to swap to Dendro just as they have Anemo in Mondstadt, Geo in Liyue, and Electro in Inazuma. Other than that, everything else is just rumour and speculation right now at best.
According to potential leaks, Baizhu of the Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue and the mysterious YaoYao will be newly playable Dendro characters, though we're expecting them to release quite far down the line in the Sumeru story, if at all.
YaoYao has been in cutscenes and promotional artwork in the past. The weapon type (and vision) of her, Baizhu, Nahida, and Alhaitham remains unknown, but we expect most of them to be Dendro characters to make up for how few there will be in the game at first.
Genshin Impact Dendro reactions
Elements | Reaction | Effect |
---|---|---|
Dendro + Pyro | Burning | Target takes extra Pyro damage. |
Dendro + Electro | Quicken | This reaction is a debuff, and will not deal damage. |
Quicken + Electro | Aggravate | This reaction will add extra DMG. |
Quicken + Electro | Spread | This reaction will add extra DMG, a little more than Aggravate. |
Dendro + Hydro | Bloom | Seeds drop, dealing Dendro AoE damage. Hitting one of the seeds with Pyro will create an explosion. |
Bloom + Electro | Hyperbloom | Use Electro attacks on the Dendro Cores created by the Bloom effect, turning them into explosives. |
Bloom + Pyro | Burgeon | Use Pyro attacks on the Dendro Cores created by the Bloom effect, turning them into Dendro explosives. |
Each of the seven elements in Genshin Impact has reactions with each other. For instance, Pyro used on a Cryo-inflicted target creates Melt, and Cryo over a Hydro-inflicted target creates Freeze.
As for how Dendro reacts, we've seen some reactions already thanks to the Samachurls and Slimes on the overworld.
So far there are three elements that do not have any reactions with Dendro: Cryo, Geo, and Anemo. This may change in future, but that remains to be seen. More reactions may be added with further Sumeru updates, like with Inazuma. If you haven't found all the collectibles there yet, check out our Genshin Impact Electroculus locations map for the details.
Who is the Dendro Archon?
Lesser Lord Kusanali - also known as Nahida - is named as the Dendro Archon in Genshin Impact lore. Players are told by Yae Miko to seek her out in Sumeru. Kusanali appears as a young girl, and has only recently become Archon after taking over the title when the previous Archon unfortunately died.
