Destiny 2, Bungie's loot-shooter/MMO hybrid is one of Steam's most popular games.
Steam's "Platinum" sellers list, which highlights games that keep racking up gross revenue, has a few new entrants this year.
While Among Us and Fall Guys are perhaps pretty obvious new additions, and Cyberpunk's successes (at least in terms of its place on Steam) have been well documented, Destiny 2's arrival on the list is impressive.
Destiny 2 Is One Of Steam's Best-Selling Games
The difference between Destiny 2 and its contemporaries (aside from Valve's DOTA 2 and CS🙂O) on that list is that it's a free-to-play game.
That means the game has made it onto the list of these hallowed twelve titles courtesy of a combination of expansions and the Eververse (the game's microtransaction store).
Destiny 2 arrived on the platform in 2019 with the launch of Shadowkeep, following Bungie's split from Activision which saw the game leave the Battle.net launcher.
This year's Beyond Light expansion will have undoubtedly contributed plenty of sales, but the stats show that Destiny is in a good place right now.
