Destiny 2 King's Fall: Golgoroth

The fourth encounter in King's Fall is Golgoroth. For this, you're going to want to designate two people to be responsible for holding Golgoroth's gaze. The other four players will be damaging him. In the middle of the room, you'll see some hook looking things hanging down, keep an eye on those. To start the encounter have everyone spread out on the upper lip of the room, and shoot the orb hanging from the ceiling. Adds will poor out of the doors, kill all of them.

Once two knights spawn from the side doors, kill them and head back to the entrance of the room for damage, unless you're a gaze holder. We'll go through the DPS responsibilities first. You'll see an orb hanging from one of the hooks. Shoot the orb and it will fall onto the floor, leaving a goo pile. The DPS players should stand in that goo, which will open a crit spot in Golgoroth's stomach. Unload any and all damage into his gut, pop a well, whatever you have to do.

Fairly quickly, someone in the goo will get a debuff called Unstable Light. When the debuff expires, everything around that player will take massive damage, but the player with the debuff will be fine. This can kill the other three DPS, but it can also deal massive damage to Golgoroth. Whoever has the debuff should run and stand right in front of the boss, and let the debuff expire. Right around this time, another goo orb will spawn in the ceiling, which can be shot down to continue the damage. This process repeats six time.

Now for the gaze holders. You'll want to position yourselves one on each side of the room. When the damage phase starts, one person will have to shoot an opening in the bosses back. You'll have to be pretty behind the boss to get it, as you cannot shoot it through the sides. Shooting the back will fix the boss's gaze on you. You'll want to haul yourself towards wherever your DPS are standing for damage, as you'll be orienting the boss so that they can shoot his crit spot. He will also shoot some orbs at you, which you'll want to shoot down as much as possible.

Once you have his gaze, you'll also have a debuff on you, which will will eventually expire. The person without the bosses gaze should be helping to clear adds in the middle, putting some damage on the next orb for the DPS, and shooting the boss's back to take the gaze from the other gaze holder when their timer gets low. Then you'll do the same thing as the first one, positioning the boss, killing the death orbs the boss shoots at you, and calling out when the gaze needs to be transferred.

This boss can be killed in six orbs with good damage. More than likely, you'll need more than that, in which case, the fight goes back to killing adds to spawn the damage phase orbs. If you happen to drop Golgoroth's gaze, any unused DPS orbs will fill up a totem in the back of the room. If six orbs fill the totem, it's a wipe.

Golgoroth Loadouts

For loadouts, Linear Fusions are going to be king here. They deal massive damage to the boss, and the gaze holders only need one shot to draw the boss's gaze. On top of that, Witherhoard is great for add control. The gaze holders will want something to kill the death orbs, so an SMG or auto-rifle is great.

Congrats on the Golgoroth kill! This is one of the more straight forward encounters in the raid by far, but it only gets harder from here.
