Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy is almost here and it brings big changes for your existing arsenal of weapons.
While for the last few years you've been able to infuse more powerful weapons into your favourite gear to keep it relevant.
Unfortunately, that won't be the case much longer.

Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy Weapon Changes
In Luke Smith's recent Director's Cut blog post, he revealed that legendary weapons will have a Power cap that means they can only ever be infused to a certain threshold.
While that won't matter in the likes of Crucible, where damage. values are normalised to level the playing field. In Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, or when trying to play high-level content, having your old gear might be more of a hindrance than a help.
Of course, this should push players to experiment with new weaponry, but in this humble writer's opinion, I'll miss using my Tigerspite auto rifle in Iron Banner.
A lot of whether this change will be a good thing or not comes down to the guns being added in Season of the Worthy. Here's hoping there will be some fresh weapons worth having.
It sounds like Bungie is hoping this will allow more extravagant weapons, too, referring back to the original game's first raid rewards.
'Back to 2014: The Vault of Glass weapons could be memorable because we knew they weren’t going to be in the ecosystem for things like Trials, Nightfalls, and Raids forever' Smith says.
'They’d naturally fall by the wayside because Power (Attack/Light in those days) would make them obsolete'
Here's hoping Gjallarhorn returns...
