Ahead of Destiny 2's Beyond Light expansion, Bungie has revealed a new ritual weapon coming as part of Season 12.
As part of the weekly blog update, the developer revealed Adored, a new snipe rifle that looks a lot like Destiny classic "Beloved".
Beautiful but deadly
Destiny 2: Adored Pinnacle Weapon Revealed
Interestingly, Bungie looks to be returning to referring to these weapons as "Pursuit Weapons" once again.
"Year 4 will see the return of pursuit weapons. For those of you who may have joined our community in the last Season or two, these weapons have static perks, but allow for some customization," the blog post reads.
"The final two perk columns have multiple perks to choose from, so you can tailor your weapon to your desired playstyle."
Whereas ritual weapons were tied into Strikes, Crucible and Gambit progression, Season 12 will bring new options for how to earn the pursuit weapon of the season (there will be only one, going forward).
Bungie notes that the options will be for Strikes, Crucible or Gambit, but once you pick a path, you're stuck with it – so choose wisely!
Each of the game's quest givers for those areas will offer a bonus quest, too, so you can get a new weapon ornament for your shiny sniper rifle, so Zavala, Shaxx and the Drifter will be worth visiting once you have Adored.
One of the game's previous pinnacle weapons, Mountaintop, looks as though it'll be getting a nerf in the coming weeks. Find out more here.
