Want to get your hands on the God Roll for The Mountaintop grenade launcher in Destiny 2? Then stick around as we'll explain the best perk combinations you should be on the lookout for.
With the start of Into the Light, several iconic Destiny 2 weapons have made their return to the game, including The Mountaintop. Players need to complete the Climbing the Mountaintop quest to get access to attunement, which will let them get more Mountaintop drops faster.
So, let's break down our favourite God Rolls of The Mountaintop for both PvE and PvP. While you're here, check out the best Breech-Loaded grenade launchers in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 The Mountaintop God Roll
As PvP and PvE usually require different perks for weapons to be effective, we'll be recommending two The Mountaintop grenade launcher rolls.
PvE God Roll
The curated roll you get can be a decent PvE GL with Spike Grenades and One for All. However, our recommendation involves the following perks per column.
- Barrel: Quick Launch, Linear Compensator
- Magazine: Spike Grenades
- Perk 1: Auto-Loading Holster, Overflow, Demolitionist
- Perk 2: Recombination, Frenzy
With these perks, you'll have a reliable grenade launcher that will save the hassle of wasting time reloading if you land the Auto-Loading perk. Alternatively, having Demolitionist will make your abilities do more damage, which is great for add clearing.
In the second perk column, we've chosen perks that are situational and will help you in higher difficulty content, where you need to stay in battle for longer periods to activate the Frenzy perk.
If you need something more immediate, Recombination makes your next shot deal extra damage if your previous kills happened with elemental damage.
PvP God Roll
For PvP, it's all about immediate explosiveness and getting the best out of your few shots. So this is what we recommend:
- Barrel: Hard Launch, Volatile Launch
- Magazine: High Velocity Rounds
- Perk 1: Impulse Amplifier, Lead from Gold
- Perk 2: Vorpal Weapon, Harmony
The Mountaintop has some decent PvP perks but nothing to go crazy about. Having Volatile Launch with High-Velocity Rounds will make your shots pack a punch while still being relatively fast projectiles.
Impulse Amplifier will make them even faster but Lead From Gold can work as long as you're chasing down heavy ammo drops and getting them consistently, so it's a niche pick. Finally, either Vorpal Weapon to take opponents using Supers by surprise or Harmony can do the trick.
