It's been a wild 48 hours for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Following news that GSC Game World were implementing NFTs into their upcoming sequel as part of a new "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Metaverse," that prompted significant backlash, with many existing fans threatening to boycott it.
Having tried to explain their plans in further detail, GSC Game World's made a significant U-turn. Making a new announcement, the team confirmed:
Dear Stalkers, we hear you. Based on feedback we received we've made a decision to cancel anything NFT-related in Stalker 2. The interests of our fans and players are the top priority for the team. We're making this game for you to enjoy - whatever the cost is. If you care, we care too. With love, GSC Game World Team.
