How to get Ancient Cores in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Ancient Cores can be found in both Dreamlight Valley and the expansion's Eternity Isle. To search for them, you'll need to have the Royal Hourglass that gradually gains power as you complete quests for Jafar and make progress in the expansion.

Treasures like the Ancient Cores are found by holding the Hourglass. They're invisible, but the sand inside the Hourglass turns blue when there's treasure in the general area, yellow when you're getting close, and orange-red when you're super close. When the treasure has been revealed, you'll need to mash a button until it appears in the 'real world' and can be collected.

It's worth noting that your furniture can block a treasure's spawn location, so try moving your decorations aside if you're having a hard time finding treasure. The consensus online is that treasure is easiest to find in the Valley, so if you're still having trouble, check the biomes of your home turf.

There doesn't seem to be a way to guarantee ancient cores, but searching with Rapunzel can see her give a bonus core or two if you've reached a high friendship level; the same is also true for all villagers with the 'time bending' role.

Now that you're well-versed in ancient core collecting, find out how to make a bug platter and unlock Jack Skellington through the Something Comes A'Knocking quest. You should also learn how to craft signposts to keep your Valley organised.
