When you're not talking to your childhood favourites in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll probably find yourself exploring, foraging, and gathering resources. If you like to fish, however, you may stumble across a unique quest.

The mysterious quest begins when you fish up an emerald bottle. Interacting with the bottle rewards you with an 'Emerald Sliver', and to help you figure out what it does, this guide explains how to use Emerald Sliver in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to use Emerald Sliver

Emerald Slivers can only be used to craft a Jade Crystal. You'll need to track down emerald bottles throughout the valley's many ponds, fish them out of the water, and open them up to eventually get all 16 of the game's Emerald Slivers.

When you've found them all, use a crafting station and jump into the 'Functional Items' tab to begin the bizarre next step of the quest - turning the crystal into a green potato.

To do this, you'll need to head over to the Sunlit Plateau and pay a visit to the Vitalys Mines. If you've become good friends with Simba, you'll have access to a secret room - if not, follow this video guide to know where to go. Once inside, poke the crystal ball and you'll get a 'Green Seed'.

This seed can only be planted in the Forgotten Lands, and will take a few hours to grow after being watered. Harvesting it will give you a Green Potato, which you should take to a crafting station - check the 'Potion & Enchantment' tab to see this all-new recipe for a Crystalline Green Potion:

  • Green Potato (1)
  • Jade Crystal (1)
  • Empty Vial (1)

This marks the end of the side quest. If you're wondering what the potion does, it's actually just one of many that combine to create the brilliant-looking Rainbow Fox companion. You should use our guides to finding the Red Potato, Golden Potato, and Orange / Blue Potatoes to get even closer to unlocking this secret companion.
