Cryptic Post Teases Return of Classic Call of Duty Mechanic

Throughout the history of the Call of Duty franchise, developers have used a range of movement mechanics that allow players to traverse the map. Despite no official information, Modern Warfare 2 is already shaping up to be another blockbuster instalment from Infinity Ward if recent leaks are anything to go by.

Information on changes to the Perk system in addition to classic maps returning as DLC is grabbing the attention of players wondering what the sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare has in store.

In addition to various changes, a cryptic post from a notable leaker suggests the dolphin diving mechanic is making its return.

Modern Warfare 2 Dolphin Diving

Dolphin diving first appeared in Call of Duty Black Ops as a method of evading incoming threats quickly. It features in many other titles including Black Ops 2 but in recent years, diving disappeared in favour of sliding. According to 'TheGhostOfHope,' it appears the diving mechanic will feature in Modern Warfare 2.

While fans should always take leaks with a pinch of salt, Hope's track record of correctly releasing information is rather impressive. The images of a diving mask and a dolphin accompanied by plenty of flames is certainly positive news for those that are fans of diving all over the map during a match.
