DOTA 2 allows you to equip various items to power up the hero you will use in a game. These can be purchased using the gold you will get, or there are some that you can pick up after being dropped by neutral creeps.
And just like how you can get those is the term used for these – which is neutral items. Neutral items can be notched after successfully killing neutral creeps that you can commonly encounter during the whole duration of a game in DOTA 2.
Keep reading to know more about the neutral items in DOTA 2.
How Neutral Items Work In DOTA 2
Neutral items cannot be sold in any way compared to the purchasable items in the game. The only possible method to collect neutral Items in DOTA 2 is by farming and killing neutral creeps.
However, the chance of receiving a neutral item drop from a regular neutral creep is substantially lower than Ancient neutral creeps. Ancient Neutral Creeps have a 33% boosted drop rate for Neutral Items, thus making it the best place to hunt for them.
However, neutral items can be swapped with your teammates to ensure every hero equips the best available neutral item for them.
Unlike the regular item slots in DOTA 2, neutral items feature a singular reserved slot. This ensures that players cannot equip more than one neutral item at any point in the game. Additionally, you should also note that there are five different tiers of neutral items, with each tier being activated only after a certain point of time has crossed in the game.
Here's a list of the timings along with the tier of neutral items that gets unlocked at that point.
In-game Timer | Neutral Item Tier |
---|---|
From 7 minutes | Tier 1 |
From 17 minutes | Tier 2 |
From 27 minutes | Tier 3 |
From 37 minutes | Tier 4 |
From 60 minutes | Tier 5 |
Having said that, let's dive in and check out all the neutral items currently available in DOTA 2.
