The first day of the DOTA 2 The International 10 qualifiers in the region of South America (SA) kicked off last night which saw four matches consisting of the eight teams in the tournament’s upper bracket.
Infinity vs NoPing Esports
The first match of the day was between Infinity vs NoPing Esports. Game 1 went on to favor the side of Infinity, while NoPing bounced back and won game 2, forcing a coveted game 3.
But in the end, it was Infinity who had the last laugh and notched the victory in game 3, advancing them to the second round of the upper bracket. NoPing on the other hand fall short and went down the lower bracket.
Team Unknown vs Hokori
Team Unknown faced off Hokori in the second match of the day where the former bested the latter in three games. This series could somehow be the same as the match between Infinity and NoPing, with Team Unknown winning the first and last game to close out the series 2-1.
Hokori won game 2 but they were not able to sustain their momentum going to game 3. Team Unknown advanced in the second round of the upper bracket, while Hokori will have to redeem their spot in the lower bracket.
EgoBoys vs Infamous
The third match was more of a different story compared to the first two matches. Infamous won game 1, but EgoBoys managed to pull off a reverse sweep after winning games 2 and 3, and eventually closing out the series, 2-1. They would go on to the upper bracket round 2, sending Infamous to the lower bracket.
SG Esports vs BINOMISTAS
The final match of the day also ended in three games wherein if featured SG Esports vs BINOMISTAS with the former coming out victorious in the end. Game 1 belonged to SG, but BINOMISTAS notched the win in game 2, forcing a deciding game 3.
However, they were not able to continue their momentum and SG Esports sealed the deal, winning game 3 and closing out the series 2-1. They will move forward in the upper bracket round 2 while BINOMISTAS would head down the lower bracket.
DOTA 2 The International 10 SA Qualifiers Day 1 Aftermath
In the upper bracket round 2, it will be Infinity vs Team Unknown and EgoBoys vs SG Esports. The winners of these matches will face each other in the upper bracket final, while the losers will go down the lower bracket.
On the other hand, in the lower bracket, it will now be NoPing Esports vs Interitus, Hokori vs Latam Defenders, Infamous vs Omega Gaming, and BINOMISTAS vs Inverse. All of these matches would be do-or-die, where the losers will be automatically eliminated from the tournament.
