However, getting to this area isn't easy since you can't just stroll through the open world to reach it.

Instead, players must complete certain sections of Taash’s storyline, making it one of the last places they unlock.

After recruiting Taash through the quest The Dragon Slayer, you can start unlocking the caves.

You can’t make much headway toward the caves at first, as access to this hidden location is only possible later in Act 2.

The main quest, Fire and Ice, becomes your focal point here. This mission is intense as it pits you against two fearsome dragons, each with its own elemental strengths.

It opens the door to Taash’s growing obsession with hunting dragons and guides you to the Sharksmouth Caves. Once you wrap up Fire and Ice, make your way to have a word with Taash.

This conversation will unlock a new series of dragon-hunting quests. The first is Slaying the Fangscorcher, where you face another fierce dragon.

This mission reveals that the Dragon King is observing Taash’s every move. When you wrap up this quest, return to the Lighthouse.

You can start the dragon hunt Kataranda The Stormrider in Taash’s quarters. This quest demands yet another dragon battle, with each hunt ramping up the intensity of Taash’s story.

Once these two dragon hunts are completed, speak to Taash again at the Lighthouse. You'll unlock The Lair of the Dragon King, a key quest that allows you to fast travel to Sharksmouth Mountain.

However, if these quests don’t immediately appear, you may need to improve your bond with Taash.

To do this, take Taash along on your quests, or consider purchasing their special gift from the Hall of Valor, which can improve your relationship and make the quests available.

What Can You Expect in the Sharksmouth Caves?

As soon as you enter Sharksmouth Caves, you’ll find the thrilling end of Taash’s storyline.

This includes an epic clash with the Dragon King. This area expands on the side quest of Warden Grey’s Final Repose, uncovering more profound mysteries about the fallen Warden's past.

In addition to the climactic battle, the caves feature the side quest, The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain.

This quest is similar to the treasure-hunting thrills in the Warden Vault of the Rivain Coast but promises even more impressive loot.

If this happens to be the final location you unlock on the map, you’ll be rewarded with the Across The Imperial Highway Trophy/Achievement.
