Dying Light 2 is an action role-playing game from Techland and is the sequel to Dying Light. In the game, you end up in a place called The City. This is one of the last human settlements and it's in disarray. It's down to you to decide the fate of The City and its inhabitants. The game is going to be available on a variety of platforms and it will have up to 4 player co-op, but will it have cross-play?
Will It Have Cross-Play and Support Cross-Generation Play?
In an interview with the Lead Game Designer, Tymon Smektala (conducted by Kai Powell at Wccftech) we learn that the game will not support cross-play or cross-generation play at launch. When asked about the possibility of these two features being part of the game, Smektala replied:
" [...]this will not be implemented at the start but we are looking very closely at it and we hopefully will be able to activate/introduce it later during the life of the game."
This means at launch on February 4th, 2022 you will need to play co-op mode with other players on the same console as you for now. However, Smektala's answer does create the possibility of cross-play and cross-generation play being implemented later on.
While we wait for the game to launch, take a look at the trailer below to see more of The City:
